This course serves as a complement to the course “Introduction to Bioinformatics: Handling Files from Sequencing”. In this second part, we delve into advanced bioinformatics techniques, focusing on De Novo Assembly and annotation of prokaryotic genomes. Participants will develop essential skills to tackle massive sequencing data and obtain functional information from genomes, enabling a deeper understanding of molecular biology. Directed at anyone who has pursued scientific-technical careers, as bioinformatics and working with massive data are commonplace. This course provides the introductory and necessary guidelines for generating and working with genome assembly processes. It is taught by professionals who work daily in the bioinformatics service of the UMA and understand the difficulties that students face when dealing with this type of data.
