Metataxonomics
The Metataxonomic Service offers a complete analysis of biological diversity in different environmental or biological samples. This service is based on the sequencing of specific regions of DNA, known as “barcodes” or “barcodes,” which allow the identification and quantification of the species present in each sample. The process is optimized for identifying prokaryotes with the 16S marker, the identification of fungi with the ITS marker, and the identification of eukaryotes with the 18S marker.
The service encompasses quality inspection of the raw sequencing data with preprocessing to remove artifacts and improve sequence quality. Subsequently, different algorithms are applied to reconstruct the marker genes and their taxonomic assignment using different biological reference databases such as GenBank or SILVA. This allows for identifying the species in the sample and estimating their relative abundance.
