 Leica Laser Microdissection System LMD7000

The Leica LMD7000 has the most powerful and ajustable laser for microdissection of all kinds of tissue and in addition to all options of the LMD7000 is also able to easily cut hard plant material up to wood of several 100 µm. Laser microdissection uses a laser to isolate specific microscopic regions from tissue samples. The way in which specimens of interest are transferred and collected influences the specificity and quality of the end result. Only Leica Microsystems uses simple gravity for specimen collection.

Bioanalyzer

bioanalizador_portada.jpgBioanalyzer 2100 (Agilent)

The Bioanalyzer is an automated electrophoresis system of DNA, RNA and proteins. Electrophoresis on this equipment allows data processing using a software, showing the classic gel and electropherogram with different bands. Simultaneously quantifies each of the band showing its size, its concentration in ng / microliter and molarity. Electrophoresis takes place on a solid support (chip) that consumes only 1 microliter of sample. This device prevents the development and treatment of the gel with ethidium bromide in the case of DNA electrophoresis and staining and drying of gels in the case of proteins. Molecular weight standards are incorporated in the kit. Protein electrophoresis is always performed under denaturing conditions.

Digilab HydroShear DNA system The Hydroshear offering a simple and easy-to-use, reproducible, and controllable method of fragmenting DNA. The HydroShear DNA Shearing creates and controls hydrodynamic forces that work in conjunction with its innovative shearing assembly to shear DNA. A wide range of DNA samples are compatible with the HydroShear, and the shearing parameters can be adjusted to produce specific fragment lengths of DNA.

 Chef DRIII (Biorad)

The pulsed field gel electrophoresis is used for analysis and identification of DNA fragments larger than 2K. The resolution ranges from 100 bp DNAs. to 10 Mb.This electrophoretic technique allows to solve DNA sizes of the order of chromosomes. The separation is performed by alternating electric field between different pairs of electrodes causing a continuous fragments´s reorientation that  migrate through the agarose. In this way it can perform the fractionation of high molecular weight DNA.

Fluorometres

The Qubit® 3.0 Fluorometer and QuantiFluor® Fluorometer are the next generation of the popular benchtop fluorometer that accurately measures DNA, RNA, and protein using the highly sensitive quantitation assays. Both are small, affordable and sensitive, providing easy and accurate fluorescence measurements. Dual-optical design allows an easy switch between assays and its simple navigation and single-point calibration make them easy to use.

Elutrap

41-dEj3gSIL._SX342_.jpgThe Elutrap™ System (Whatman) is designed to isolate nucleic acids and proteins from agarose or polyacrylamide gel slices by electroelution. Samples are purified with excellent recovery into volumes as low as 200 μl, without requiring sample pretreatment or special buffers.

Features and benefits: (1) Versatile system can be used for nucleic acids and proteins. (2) Purifies nucleic acids 14 bp to 150 Kb; proteins larger than 3 to 5 kD. (3) No salt cushions or special buffers required for elution. (4) Adjustable trap allows optimization of final sample volume. (5) Electrophoresis chamber holds up to four Elutrap devices simultaneously.
