Nanotechnology Unit

The Nanotechnology laboratories have several last generation microscopes and analysis equipment necessary to do nanometer level experiments and material analysis:

Dual Microscopy
The most advanced methods of surface electron microscopy to observe, to characterize chemical and crystallographical of materials at nanometric level as well as others tools as the nanopatterning and handling and others for the study of nanoscale systems.
Mass Spectroscopy
Surface analysis and materials for chemical characterization of the materials and the depth profile at the nanoscale. The unit provides the technology needed to carry out the quantitative depth profile analysis of inorganic and organic thin films with a high depth resolution of 1 nm and a high sensitivity with detection limit down to 1 ppm.
Photo-electron Spectroscopy
The most advanced methods of surface analysis and materials for chemical characterization of the materials at the nanoscale.
 Optical-Mechanical
The most common characterization in Materials Science taken to the nanoscale: optical and mechanical properties and surface morphologies.
